Unless you and your partner are identical in shape, size and weight, you need a bed that will take your inherent differences into account. Our Pascal system of interchangeable spring cassettes allows you and your partner to individually customize your side of the bed for optimal bed support and comfort. In a DUX bed, your personal comfort no longer has to be a compromise.

INTERCHANGEABLE CASSETTES

The top layer of The DUX Bed with Pascal can be unzipped to reveal six interchangeable spring cassettes; three for each side. The cassettes come in three different tensions, soft, medium and firm. Simply open the top of the bed and arrange the cassettes based on your body size, shape and needs. While you may need firmer bed support under your lower back, your partner may need more flexibility in order to achieve proper spinal alignment.

The springs in the Pascal cassette system represent the type of triumph sleep engineers dream about. The design of the springs, and the specific type of steel used to make them, is the fruit of years of research and testing. Each spring is a mechanical wonder, manufactured to exacting specifications for optimal mattress support. Every spring is calibrated to provide a precise degree of lift to counteract a predetermined level of weight.

PASCAL: THE MAN AND THE MEASURE

We named our patented Cassette System in honor of the famed French physicist and mathematician Blaise Pascal. A “pascal” is an international unit of measure for pressure — in our case, a measure of the precise pressure required by each spring in our family of cassettes to support a resting body of a particular size, shape and weight.

With the Pascal System, The DUX Bed can be customized to the exact needs of you and your partner so each side of the mattress supports your individual body type throughout the night. The cassettes are designed to fit body types and body parts — they not only accommodate differences in weight and height, but in shoulder width, hip density and musculature.

Additionally, the DUX 8008 allows the level of lumbar support to be adjusted for each side of the bed by turning the handle at the bed’s base.

Compression Test

A compression simulator tests different areas of the DUX bed for pressure against the body, and then compares those tests to tests on other beds. So far, there’s no contest. The pressure against the body in a DUX bed is not only lower, but more evenly distributed.

ORDINARY MATTRESS

With only about 1,000 springs most mattresses may not give you even support across all critical zones of your body. The lack of even support may not only be uncomfortable but can also put additional pressure on your body and spine. Each of the coloured lines to the left represent a different body zone. As you can see, there is not only more pressure against your body but also the distrubution of support is uneven, resulting in long divergent lines. The result is an unsettling night’s sleep.
