A former faculty member at the Mayo Medical School, Dr. Eric Grigsby enjoys a national reputation for excellence in the field of Pain Management. Currently the founder and medical director of Napa Pain Institute, a comprehensive pain management clinic in the Napa Valley, he trains and mentors other physicians nationally in the area of Pain Management. He is the founder of the annual Napa Pain Conference, which educates physicians from around the country about advances in chronic pain management.

After graduating from Boston University Medical School, Dr. Grigsby trained in Anesthesiology and Pain Management at the Mayo Clinic in Rochester, Minnesota. Dr. Grigsby taught at the Mayo Medical School and served as faculty and staff in the anesthesia department of the Mayo Health Clinic. He was also the Founder and Medical Director of the University Pain Service at the University of California, Davis. |
Providence, Rhode Island, where he received his Bachelors Degree in Biology and Economics. Each year Dr. Grigsby and his wife, Mary, travel to Malawi, Africa to volunteer their time with physicians and nurses in Malawi’s hospitals and clinics, helping them to ease the pain of AIDS patients. In order to help the struggle in Malawi against AIDS, Dr. Grigsby founded HealthRoots, a Global Foundation for HealthCare and Community Development. HealthRoots is a nonprofit that focuses on providing end-of-life care to AIDS patients in Malawi in conjunction with the Mayo Clinic. |
